An adventure in the making
As an artist I never know what to expect from year to year. I'm always on the new and always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Becoming stagnant in process or 'the grind' is a fear of most artists. Artists are crammed with the constant desire to experiment and try, or at least I am.
This year I was awarded a grant thanks to the Greater Columbus Arts Council and the Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson Memorial Fund to help fund my research and development trip out to the southwest.
I will be visiting New Mexico and taking in the arts and community in hopes to bring something new and exciting to my typical art repertoire and skills. I'm also bringing you along as well. Something I have recently grown fond of is recording my experiences by utilizing art. In order to prepare myself for a massive trip of journal-ing and documenting-- I purchased an Artist Watercolor field kit to make it much easier than lugging around my typical paints and brushes and equipment. So this weekend was trial and error in an attempt to prep myself for my adventure. I'm pretty excited to show everyone my progress of my Southwestern Adventure. Keep your eyes peeled!
